What Matters Most?

There is more… so much more to life. If I am to be honest I have to admit that most of my life, I lived for me. I wanted to be liked and accepted, I wanted to please people and I wanted to get my way. If I was not a believer - I would have at least had an excuse, but I was a believer even then. I just didn’t live like it. I had accepted Jesus as my Savior. I loved Him. I knew all about Him. I just didn’t really know Him - not in an intimate way. Then God got my attention and I began to spend more time in the Word - spending time with the Living Word and studying the written Word. It changed my life and drew me into a relationship with Jesus that was more than I had ever even dared to imagine.

Is it easy to have intimacy with Jesus? No. It is easy to be like the rest of the world - all about me - selfish, distracted and driven by my personal desires. However, when we do that, we rob ourselves of His peace, His promises and His glorious presence.

No matter where you are on your faith journey, won’t you join me and let’s travel this path together. Let’s hold hands, encourage one another and take step after step closer to our Savior. Ready?

If the answer is yes, you might want to

Child of God –“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)To believe means to accept Jesus as our Savior and to make the decision to live our life for Him.

Redeemed & Forgiven –“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence…” (Ephesians 1:7-8)Redeemed means we have been bought back – a ransom has been paid for us, therefore confirming God finds value in us. Because Jesus paid the price for our sins, we are forgiven, no longer guilty, therefore blameless – no need for shame.

Chosen–Jesus is speaking and says, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” (John 15:16) We have been chosen, therefore we can know we are wanted. The Creator of the Universe wants us. Because of His great love for us, He sent His Son so we could have a relationship with Him. Jesus has initiated a relationship with us and is waiting for us to grow that relationship into a deep friendship.

Masterpiece–“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT) God calls us His masterpiece, His creation. He has instilled worth and value in you and filled you with purpose. You are not a mistake; you are God’s handiwork – His masterpiece.

Loved–“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.” I John 3:1-2Do not let the world define who you are. Walk in the true identity your creator has given to you. Don’t forget. You are loved and can live loved every day of your life.

His–Rest in this great truth. Anytime you struggle with who you are, remind yourself that you are a Child of God, redeemed, forgiven and chosen, a great masterpiece, who is loved with an everlasting love. You, my friend, are His. He is your beloved & you are His!

next steps in RELATIONSHIP with Jesus

What Do I Do Now?

"We are not to be conformed to this world - self-centered, insecure, needy, longing to fit in, and going along with the crowd.  But we should be transformed - changed by our salvation experience, longing to be like Christ, willing to be different, secure in who He is and who we are in Him, fulfilled, set apart, and full of joy?"

You are not your past.  Your true identity is found in who Jesus is and what He has done for you. No more buying into Satan's lies. It's time to become who you were created to be.

Study the Bible

Get into the Word and before you know it, it will get into you.  It will become personal, and you will find God is speaking directly into your life.

Develop Your Prayer Life

Prayer is simply talking with God. It is not just about asking for what you want. It is spending time with your Savior - praising Him for who He is and asking Him to show you who He wants you to be.

Fellowship With Believers

When you are mutual friends with someone, you come to know them better. Surround yourself with people who love Jesus and encourage one another in your relationship with Him.

Being popular was more important to me than being set apart. I followed the crowd more than I should have and lived as if being happy was what life was all about. As I look back, I realize that although I loved Jesus and had accepted Him as my personal Savior, I had not grown much past that point. I thought I knew what I needed to know, but what I needed most was to know Jesus more.
